HTC Desire S Gingerbread coming with Vodafone
Wednesday February 16, 2011
The follow-up of HTC Desire has been introduced at MWC, the Gingerbread-equipped Desire S.
The forthcoming handset has a brand-new design, similar to the uni-body subject of the WP7-toting HTC Mozart. Its sleek aluminum case is joined with a 3.7 inch (480 x 800) WVGA display, losing the optical trackpad of its older version. It will support a new edition of HTC Sense UI, including a host of new apps such as “Mirror.
Round the back, the HTC Desire S has a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, capable of recording 720p HD footage. There’s also a 1.3 megapixel video call camera around the front, making the most of its Android 2.4 OS. We’re a bit sad to see a single-core 1GHz Snapdragon processor having wish for a few dual-core action.
It will also feature integrated GPS, HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity and a 1450mAh battery. The phone will be releasing to Vodafone in middle of this year 2011, even though the price tag of the phone has not yet been confirmed.
