Friday February 18, 2011
We have a closer look to see if it will suit business users. Fighting through all the tablets on the market has just gotten harder following Mobile World Congress 2011 (MWC) in Barcelona. The place was flooded with new designs in various shapes and sizes, trying to steal even a slither of market share from the dominant Apple iPad.
However, HP decided to leap ahead of the game by launching its new tablet, the HP TouchPad, the week before the conference. After much anticipation, we finally managed to get our hands on one at MWC.
It has a shimmering and elegant looks packed with a soft, curved ends and gorilla glass front, it definitely compares well with other tablets aesthetically.
It was little thicker than some of its rivals too at 13.7mm didn’t affect the pleasant look of the tablet. Their dimensions are almost the same as iPad's. The 1,024 x 768 resolution of the 9.7in screen beats many of its contenders, but it also offset many of them as well at a hefty 740g. It operates the new version of webOS and HP should be tapping itself on the back after having Palm.
Powered by an dual-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor. When browsing the web on the TouchPad, easy tapping the Pre3 on the tablet transferred the webpage from the TouchPad onto the smartphone.
An adequate 1.3 megapixel camera is present on the front of the TouchPad for making video calls. The preinstalled QuickOffice will be valued by its customers. This phone will be there in markets by this summer in 16 and 32GB versions, both of which will be coming either with or without integrated 3G. Therefore,Price details are still to be confirmed.
